Carrier Compliance Unit (CCU)
With over 75 mobile network operators in the US, many with their own and different standards for operating a US short code, Voxiva’s Carrier Compliance Unit (CCU) helps our customers formulate and maintain compliant SMS programs. Carriers require programs to follow strict guidelines with regards to message content as well as outlining specific instructions about the format of web, print and other promotional material. Prior to any program going live carriers require it to be formally certified by their own compliance team, only after which will the short code be enabled or the program be certified. Even after certification carriers conduct regular program audits ensuring that active programs remain in compliance with the changing rules, actively disconnecting those that fail to promptly implement corrective action. Voxiva’s CCU ensures our programs are designed and built in line with the carrier and Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) guidelines, and manages the carrier certification process on behalf of the customer to ensure a successful conclusion. The Voxiva CCU also monitors the regular changes made by the carriers and the MMA and then works with our customers to ensure their program remains compliant.
